In this era of global revolutions in telecommunications, sports have become a top priority for leaders and governments world-wide as a way to define and promote their cultures and civilizations. On the other hand, sports have also succeeded in spanning the geographical boundaries that exist between nations to promote interaction and understanding between different peoples and cultures and have become, in the process, a valuable and sustainable economic resource. Sports also provide a healthy outlet for young people to exert their energy in a positive way that keeps them out of trouble.
