Etisalat sponsored the contract signing ceremony between an first Arab UAE Football player and a first division football club from the Brazilian league.

The UAE football player who signed the contract was Abdulla Al-Kamali. He was previously a player for Al-Wasl Club (Under 20 and Under 18 sides) scoring 23 goals during 2007 - 2008.

On the occassion, Etisalat rewarded Abdulla Al-Kamali with 30 thousand dirham as a token of appreciation and encouragement. It also rewarded the player’s coach Mr. Marco Aurelio with 30 thousand dirhams for his contributions to UAE football and for identifying and nurturing this football talent.

This announcement was made at a press conference held in Burj Al-Arab hotel on 21st May at 11:00 am. The press conference was attended by top VIPs, Sports Personalities, Sports CEOs and Media.

The Brazilian club, who offered the contract to Abdulla Al Kamali is Atlético Paranaense in Curitiba, Capital city of Paraná State, south of Brazil; this club is one of the most famous clubs in the first division league. The club is well known for the excellence in administrative and sports management in Brazil, and was the champion of Brazilian league more than once. This club is always trying to attract foreign players and to bring them to highest levels.

Attending the ceremony was Mr. Mario Petralgia, CEO of the Brazilian club Atlético Paranaense, who is a well respected personality among Brazilian sports circles and is in Dubai along with other Club Executives to join the press conference to announce this contract.

H.E Ahmed Abdel Kareem Julfar, Operation CEO represented Etisalat and presented the rewards. He said, “Etisalat’s sponsorship is in line with the UAE leaders support and in honor of all achievements that Abdulla was able to achieve compared to his young age. We consider that his success is a great inspiration to all UAE nationals and sports lovers in general”.

He added “our sponsorship aims to highlight the important role of sport in networking people belonging to different regions and cultures. And we are very proud to sponsor such big event that will in turn helps in support developing our player and skills. And he also wished Abdulla all the best in his career.

Abdulla Al-Kamali thanked Etisalat for the support.
